Hello! My name is Hannah.
I have been involved in the world of book publishing since I was in my undergraduate Creative Writing program, but have formally been helping authors since 2020.
Though the services I’ve offered have evolved over time, my commitment to supporting indie authors has never wavered. Your book will always be in good hands with me – and you’ll learn that I take your success as seriously as my own.
My Favorite Types of Projects
While I’m open to many different types of projects and styles of writing, this little section will highlight some of my favorite kinds of projects to take on. But what happens if you’re interested in working together but your project type isn’t on this list? That’s perfectly fine! I accept projects outside of these all the time because I’m willing to work with almost anyone and anything if I can feel the passion behind it.
Fiction
My favorite genres of fiction are:
- YA Fiction/Fantasy
- Women’s Fiction
- Own-Voices Fiction from the disabled/mentally ill/neurodivergent communities
- Low & High Fantasy
- Historical Fiction/Fantasy
There are, however, some genres of fiction that I am absolutely not qualified to help with, and these include:
- Science Fiction
- Horror Fiction
- Christian/religious Fiction
- Own-Voices Fiction that centers experiences that I have not personally had or voices from a marginalized community that I am not a part of
Nonfiction
I love, and have extensive experience in both reading and writing the following nonfiction genres:
- Memoir/Autobiography (especially for those in the disabled/mentally ill/neurodivergent community)
- Self-Help
- Personal Development
- Entrepreneurship
- Spirituality (especially when related to tarot, astrology, etc.)
- Humanities (my honors BA is actually in History)
- Popular Academic Nonfiction (think complex researched subjects for general audiences)
Some genres of nonfiction thast I am not qualified to edit include:
- Christian/religious Nonfiction
- Complex and entirely research-based Nonfiction outside of the Humanities
- Own-Voices Nonfiction that centers experiences that I have not personally had or voices from a marginalized community that I am not a part of
Poetry & KidLit
Poetry is probably my favorite thing to edit, read, promote, etc. My favorite types of poetry manuscripts include:
- Prose Poetry
- Contemporary Poetry
- Poetry mixed with Short Stories
However, I do not feel qualified to help with the following:
- Poetry in Verse
- Epic Poetry
- Poetry that Relies on a Rhyme Scheme
KidLit is very similar to poetry: I enjoy it, but I don’t feel qualified to help with anything written in verse or with a rhythm/rhyme scheme. I also don’t feel qualified to help with Middle Grade manuscripts. It’s been a long time since I read those myself, and I don’t have anyone in my life at that stage who I could possibly consult with.
